The <a href=\"https:\/\/neworleanscitypark.org\/series\/evenings-with-enrique-4\/\">series<\/a> kicks off on October 2 and continues every Wednesday through October 30 <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW221091149 BCX0\">\u2013<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW221091149 BCX0\">bring your blankets and lawn chairs for a bewitching evening under the stars!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Launched in 2016, <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Evenings with Enrique<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> is a bi-annual concert series held every April and October. The series pays tribute to renowned Mexican artist Enrique Alf\u00e9rez who lived in New Orleans for almost 70 years and made a profound contribution to the New Orleans art scene. Alf\u00e9rez has over 20 works of art featured at The Helis Foundation Enrique Alf\u00e9rez Sculpture Garden inside the New Orleans Botanical Garden. His sculptures may also be found throughout New Orleans at Ogden Museum of Southern Art, New Orleans Museum of Art, Poydras Corridor Sculpture Exhibition and New Orleans City Park.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Admirers of Alf\u00e9rez\u2019s work may purchase Enrique Alf\u00e9rez: Sculptor by Katie Bowler Young at the Botanical Garden giftshop. Published by The Historic New Orleans Collection, the book chronicles the life of the preeminent artist and was made possible with support from The Helis Foundation and members of The Historic New Orleans Collection\u2019s 2019 Bienville Circle and Laussat Society.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Throughout the year, The Helis Foundation provides free admission on select days for Louisiana residents via its Art for All initiative to several of New Orleans most beloved cultural institutions including the New Orleans Botanical Garden, New Orleans Museum of Art, Contemporary Art Center New Orleans, Ogden Museum of Southern Art and Louisiana Childrens Museum.
